ArDrive isn't just another cloud storage service. It's permanent data storage which means any files you upload to ArDrive will outlive you!

For those of you new to this type of tech, there may be a few unfamiliar steps to get started. It isn't as intimidating as it may seem! Try our Tech 101 course to learn the basics. And if you run into trouble, reach out to ArDrive Support or connect with us on Discord.

STEP 1: GET AR TOKENS

To use ArDrive you'll need a digital wallet that contains AR. ArDrive is built on the Arweave network which uses the digital currency AR.

Arweave will give you enough AR so you can upload a few files up for free. They'll also give you a personal digital wallet. Note that you will need a Twitter account to get started with them. If you don't have a Twitter account please move onto Step 2, otherwise hit the button below to get your AR and digital wallet address.

STEP 2: LOAD DIGITAL WALLET

All users need a digital wallet to pay for files you want to upload to ArDrive. We recommend using ArConnect to manage your digital wallet. It's easy to use on any Chrome browser. See the video on this page for a walk through.

If you completed Step 1, you'll be able to load the digital wallet file you received into ArConnect. If you skipped Step 1, ArConnect will give you a digital wallet for free (though you'll need to load it with AR separately).
